Arssalendo
An eighteen-minute film where the songs are the structure, not the soundtrack.
Arssalendo describes his own work on Bandcamp as "distorted patterns and bipolar rhythms". The album Puoi Chiamare Se Hai Paura came with an eighteen-minute, three-act film that Directors Notes says "sits somewhere on the borderland between music video and short film".
The music is not an accompaniment, it's the structure of the story.
That is writer-director Giada Bossi, and the songs were written in parallel with the script rather than cut to it. Shot in Cunardo in northern Italy, mixing cast actors with local teenagers whose real Instagram stories became script material.
Each chapter has its own grade: bright and high-contrast for early adolescence, then a clinical cold corner, then desaturated with deeper blacks. The camera escalates from near-static to hand-held across the three acts.
